What are the production processes of FPC hollow plate

FPC hollow plate, also known as flexible circuit board, is a printed circuit with high reliability and excellent flexibility. This kind of hollow plate circuit can be bent at will, light weight, small size, good heat dissipation, easy installation and other advantages in the electronics and communication industry has been increasingly paid attention to and widely used.


The production process of FPC hollow plate can be summarized as the following process:


1. Cutting: Preliminary cutting of the substrate according to the required size, requiring the correct size and no creases, stains and so on.


2.CNC drilling: high-speed drilling of the plate according to the size and shape of the aperture or pattern in the design drawing.


3. Copper plating: A thin layer of copper is plated on the surface of the substrate and the surface of the copper hole with the principle of precipitation of chemical copper, and its thickness is checked, requiring the plated copper to be uniform and smooth. And carry out proper chemical flushing to remove the surface easily.


4. Apply dry film.


5. Two-sided exposure: the semi-finished FPC hollow plate is placed under certain lighting conditions to detect whether there are pinhole broken lines and other conditions.


6. Development: Display the image of the negative.


7. Etching: Remove oxides and impurities on the surface of the hollow plate to enhance the adhesion ability of copper and the surface.


8. Remove the film and carry out chemical cleaning: remove more than part of the dry film attached.


9. Protective film: the protective layer on the surface of FPC hollow plate.


10. Lamination: make the film more firmly fit on the surface of the FPC hollow plate.


11. Electroplating lead or nickel gold: Some FPC hollow plates that need to increase special functions need to be plated with this metal to achieve.


12. Segmentation and punching shape: deal with the appearance of FPC hollow plate, whether there are rough edges, pulling material and other appearance of bad phenomena.


13. Detection: The FPC hollow plate produced is tested and compared with the standard sample to see whether its appearance and performance are consistent.


It can be seen that the production of FPC hollow plate needs to go through a number of complex process, and each process has high requirements and plays a very important role in its molding. Of course, with the continuous progress and maturity of technology, many processes in the future can be completed in one step or completely automated production.
